Yoga is an ancient spiritual practice that includes movement as but one aspect of the system - the practice of moving through postures is called asana and is intended as a path to go within. Sarah's classes focus toward this element of the ancient tradition, approaching movement as a journey, not a performance, a way to connect with ourselves and open up the body. Yogilates is a blend of functional deep core conditioning inspired by Pilates and combined with the stretch and strength attained in Yoga asana. This slower paced and methodical application is designed to guide participants of all fitness levels to a greater understanding, and engagement, of core strength.

Driven to be the best movement coach she can be to help others enjoy active and healthy lives, Sarah is pursuing her BA in Kinesiology at VIU. Sarah has actively taught Yoga since 2006 and holds multiple instructor certificates. In the early 2000s, she began her journey with Pilates, she’s both mat and reformer qualified and has earned a diploma in clinical Pilates focusing on injury prevention and rehabilitation. Since 2017 she’s been teaching Barre fitness which she continued on Zoom through the pandemic and offers a video library for remote access.

In 2009, Sarah began integrating hands-on bodywork after completing a certification through Thai Massage. She has since completed numerous trainings in the field and developed a busy practice applying a variety of manual therapies including fascial specific release and Bowen technique.

Movement and bodywork have enriched her life deeply, both physically and emotionally, inspiring Sarah to assist others in finding their balance in life.
